THE EUGENE Studio “1/2 Century later.”

“1/2 Century later.” is an exhibition of THE EUGENE Studio which is based in Japan and produces installations, graphics, and video works. The studio worked on projects at the Serpentine Gallery in London. For the recent years, it collaborated with an American novelist Ken Liu and conducted a joint research in the fields of artificial intelligence, urban and biotechnology.
In the exhibition, “half a century” will pass by at the end of the exhibition from 1968. Moreover, a movie “2001 A Space Odyssey” and a novel “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?” were released in the same year. In addition, a yet to be presented installation themed “Half a century from then(or half a century from now)” will be on display. At the venue, a group of works reflecting the future will be set out around a large glass installation with a motif of “a heritage of the future image drawn by a past story.”
