It takes about an hour from central Tokyo by express train. The scenery from the train window changes to greenery as the time goes by.
The studio of Eugene Studio / Eugene Kangawa is located opposite a wooden furniture factory in an area surrounded by lush greenery and satoyama, where organic farming has been practised since ancient times.
Eugene Studio's solo exhibition「 EUGENE STUDIO New Sea EUGENE STUDIO After the rainbow」at the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo attracted many visitors and attracted a great deal of attention, as did the「 PLAY EARTH PARK (Tokyo, Toyama)」held in the same year, for which the studio was responsible for the concept design, and other initiatives that are central to contemporary art in Japan but that also engage with society are fresh in the memory.
