Contemporary artist from Japan, THE EUGENE Studio which gains attention as the upcoming in the field of art × technology.
How can we visualize the future and lead an ideal reality－

A vision of art leading experiment and practice towards the unknown society will appear in Shiseido Gallery.
AI (Artificial Intelligence), IoT(Internet of Things), AR (Augmented Reality) etc. The field of art / design and engineering / science mixed with has been gaining attention due to the acceleration of technology and social change.
Rhizomatiks directed a performance for Tokyo Olympics in 2020 at a closing ceremony of Rio Olympics. Team Lab is an leading group which introduces an immersive experiential digital art. Takram is widely known as a design engineering group. An art collector Daisuke Miyazu mentioned THE EUGENE Studio is the next new comer in his book “ The era of art × technology ” for the field. The studio was established by Eugene Kangawa and Masashi Wada and produces mostly two-dimensional art works, videos and installations with scripts and scenarios. In recent years, the studio has conducted experimental cooperative researches on the areas of AI, education, urbanism and biotechnology and also a collaborative work with Ken Ryu, a Sci-Fi author who won three notable American Sci-Fi prizes.
And this time, THE EUGENE Studio tries to visualize image of the future “after half a century from then ”. 1968 was the year which the future image was dictated by numerous Sci-Fi masterpieces. What kind of vision the studio will present among the bearers of art × technology with an explosive evolution around the world. Living organism × machine, physical reality × digital, originality × reproducibility ... I would like to expect the young talent which will lead a society to come.
