After the War

“A structure composed of films”
“After the War” is a system/artwork which collects “war-related videos that happened in the past on today’s date” and plays them on the web. Including the videos submitted from the advocates, as of May 2016, 1200 sequences, more than 100 hours of videos were collected in total.
The feature of After the war that it is not only sampling the videos but reflects the organic change of the archive and the change in the definition of the word “WAR”.

“映像の構造体”
“After the War”は、「『今日』の過去と同じ日に、世界のどこかで行われたWARに纏わる映像」を、Web上で蒐集し流すシステム/作品です。
外部からの映像提供も含め、2016年5月時点で365日全日付分、1200シーケンス、のべ100時間以上の映像が集まりました。
After the Warは単なるサンプリングではなく、アーカイブの有機的な変化、そしてWARという言葉の定義自体の変化が反映されることが特徴だと考えています。

In “Today’s film”, the collected digital data (including Vine or Youtube videos taken privately) were converted into films and preserved.They are processed with our own film recorder and then archived

“Today’s film”では、これらで集められたデジタルデータ(Vine、YouTubeなど個人的に撮影されたもの含めて)を物理的なフィルムに戻し、保存していました。自作のフィルムレコーダーで焼付け、アーカイブを行います。
